CHEMICAL ENGINEER FOR PHARMACEUTICAL MANUFACTURING FACILITY
ELKTON, VA
Top Skillset/Experience requirements:
  • Materials characterization
  • Reverse engineering of materials
  • Knowledge of spectroscopic characterization techniques
* Comfortable in both Manufacturing and Lab environments*

Required Skills:
  • BS / MS / PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related discipline.
  • Chemists, chemical engineers, GMP background.
  • Materials characterization, reverse engineering of materials, knowledge of spectroscopic characterization techniques.
  • Comfortable in both Manufacturing and Lab environments.
  • Experience with thermal operating systems/equipment and BRUKER equipment are highly preferred.

Project Description:
  • The Troubleshooting and Diagnostics Unit in Elkton, VA is looking for you!
  • You will be providing construction analysis and carrying out research on materials characterization, manufacturing equipment troubleshooting, pharmaceutical manufacturing forensics work aimed at events root cause determination and preventive actions.
  • The nature of the work performed by the incumbent will be the solution of specific manufacturing events, these are expected to be non-recurrent after resolution.
  • You will be expected to perform clerical and general maintenance activities for a laboratory setting, such as, but not limited to:
  • Housekeeping.
  • Diagnosing broken equipment.
  • Spectroscopic characterization.
  • Tracking and scheduling equipment/instrument maintenance activities.
  • Titrations.
  • General analytical chemistry.
  • Ordering supplies.
  • Reporting & analysis.
  • Sampling.
  • Communication with cross-functional teams in and outside of organization such as the owner the equipment, the supplier, the factory, etc.
  • Supporting new instrument acquisition
  • Safety first and quality always, it is expected for the candidate to follow and abide by all safety rules and regulations including but not limited to personal protective equipment, laboratory best practices, hazardous material handling principles, etc.
  • Expected to work in an environment with potential beta-lactam antibiotic exposure.

This 12+ month position starts ASAP.
