Responsible for leading research, conducting trials/experiments, gathering data and reporting findings on assignments/projects that are moderately complex.
Performs a variety of duties requiring the application of technical knowledge using established processes/protocols.
Independently plans, prioritizes, and executes work making basic technical decisions independently.
Often responsible for training and/or coaching other permanent or temp employees.
60% - Conduct product sampling, testing and analysis .
20% - Execute daily distribution, collection, review and enforcement of all plant quality programs and control documentation .
10%- Support Pre-requisite programs as needed .
10% - Quality Assurance training .
Execute all lab analysis and functions supporting R&D Pilot Plant and Meals & Beverage R&D .
Support and guide plant operations through effective communication to comply with the plant's critical food safety (HACCP) and Quality plans.
Display understanding of plant GMPs and ability to evaluate others in follow GMP rules.
Accountable for insuring plant pre and post operation sanitation related requirements are met.
Assists in developing knowledge and understanding of quality systems with plant personnel .
Follow safe practices and implement GLPs ( understanding of validated lab methods, housekeeping, safe handling of chemicals and glassware, preparation of standards, performing daily calibrations and data management).
Participate in internal audit program as needed and background screen .
Required Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Degree is not required.
1-3 years lab or manufacturing experience.
Food manufacturing will be a huge plus.
MS Office experience is beneficial.
Technical certification or post-graduate training preferred.
May be required to pass drug test.
